What to expect from your home inspection.
Purchasing a home is a large investment for many Canadians. As such, it is important to familiarize yourself with all of the activities related to buying a house so that you can make an informed choice. Many people have their home inspected as part of the home buying process. What should you expect from a TICAD Residential Home Inspection? Your TICAD inspection will take on average, three to four hours to complete depending on the size and complexity of the home. The inspection includes a non-intrusive visual inspection of the systems and components found within the home, meaning they will be observed for their correct function and operability. Your TICAD inspector is not expected to displace flooring or tiling, or check water or air samples unless an agreement has been made prior to the date of your home inspection. We make every effort using the best tools and resources available to us when performing our work. This does not allow us to see through walls, predict future performance, or estimate life spans on a home. We do have resources to help you get this information. What happens when the inspection is complete? Following the examination of your home, your TICAD inspector will immediately go over the summary of the report findings with you. You will receive a digital copy of your TICAD Inspection Report which describes and outlines the details from the inspection in full. It is advised that you read the entire contents of your report and not just the summary page. When you have questions, it is most important that you speak with us directly to clarify any details of the report prior to closing. Finally, Your TICAD Inspection Report will describe the home's major systems, their crucial components, and operability. Defects will be adequately described and the report will include recommendations and directions. Your report will also disclaim portions of the home not inspected, if any.
