Purchasing a home is a large investment for many Canadians. As such, it is important to familiarize yourself with all the activities related to buying a house so that you can make an informed choice. Many people have their home inspected as part of the home buying process. By having your inspection performed by a TICAD professional you will receive the information you require to aid you in making a sound and educated home buying decision. What should you expect from a TICAD Residential Home Inspection? A TICAD Residential Inspection takes three to four hours to complete, depending on the size and complexity of the home. The inspection includes a non-intrusive visual inspection of the systems and components found within the home, meaning they will be observed for their correct function and operability. Your TICAD inspector is not expected to displace flooring and tiling or check water or air samples. We cannot look through walls, predict future performance or estimate life spans on a home. What happens when the inspection is complete? When your inspector has completed the examination of your home he will immediately go over the summary of the findings with you. You will receive a full colour digital copy of the inspection report which describes and outlines the details from the inspection in full. It is advised that you read the entire contents of your report and not just the summary page. When you have questions, it is important that you speak with our staff to clarify any details of the report prior to closing. Finally, Your TICAD Residential Inspection Report will describe the home's major systems, their crucial components, and operability. Defects will be adequately described, and the report will include recommendations, and directions if necessary. Your report will also disclaim portions of the home not inspected, if any.
